Nerve Connection Foundation was established in 2021 as a not-for-profit organisation whose charitable purpose is to fund research into the causes, diagnosis, management, and treatment of neuromuscular disease. It is governed by a board of directors and company secretary who are infomred by the Foundation Constitution. A well equipped group of professionals act as an advisory board to the directors. The charity is fortunate to have all of these roles filled by dedicated volunteers.

Fundraising is managed by an energetic, ideas-driven committee made up of five volunteers. You can find out about upcoming events here. Nerve Connection Foundation events are manned by a dedicated cohort of young volunteers whom have connections to the organisation.

The Foundation is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission and the necessary state and territory authorities. It holds a charity tax concession endorsement and deductible gift recipient status from the Australian Taxation Office. The charity has appropriate insurances in place and meets is regulatory compliance requirements.

Operational management of the Foundation and its finances is undertaken by a Managing Director, with administration, bookkeeping and research coordination performed by contractors.
