IGC novely cheque handover 2023 Charity Day

Nerve Connection Foundation has been fortunate to have the support of the Indooroopilly Golf Club in 2022 and 2023. The Club’s annual Somerset Indooroopilly Golf Day is held each spring when the course is in full bloom. It is a hot ticket for members and a wonderful way for them to support local charities. Foundation Managing Director, Wendy Blucher and Board Chair, Professor Pamela McCombe were on hand to gratefully accept a cheque for $8,000 from Somerset Indooroopilly executives and the Club President earlier this year.

The 2023 Somerset Indooroopilly Charity Golf Day also raised funds for The Lady Musgrave Trust, Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, and Hear and Say. Pam and Wendy had plenty to talk about with representatives from these charities, and Tim Russell and Mark Taylor from Somerset Indooroopilly, over a delicious lunch in the Poinciana Bar hosted by Club President, Lyndal Plant and Women’s President, Helen Cronin. The gifts received from the 2022 and 2023 Somerset Indooroopilly Charity Golf Days have been utilised for two fellowships awarded to Dr Aven Lee.  Dr Lee, from The University of Queensland, is undertaking research into the possibility of a link between the gut microbiome and motor neurone disease.

Four local charities have been supported by the 2023 Somerset Indooroopilly Charity Golf Day.  Cheques were presented at the Indooroopilly Golf Club recently.  Pictured are guests of the Club who enjoyed a lunch to celebrate the success of the golf day, including directors of Aura Holdings (Somerset Indooroopilly developer and manager), representatives from The Lady Musgrave Trust, Muscular Dystrophy QLD, Nerve Connection Foundation, and Hear and Say, as well as the Indooroopilly Golf Club President and Women’s President.
